Keep Kids Safe Online

NetSmartz: Using age-appropriate videos and activities, NetSmartz teaches children to become more aware of potential online risks and empowers them to help victimization by making safer choices on- and offline.

National Cybersecurity Alliance: Use this set of plans and tips for students, faculty and staff to create a cybersecurity awareness campaign, which will make everyone conscious of the part they play in cybersecurity and ultimately produce a safer and happier school experience.

National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCSA): Check out the resources provided by the NCSA for users at home, work and school to keep themselves, their organizations, their systems and their sensitive information safe and secure online.

Cybersecurity Training Programs

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS):  NICCS connects government employees, students, educators, and industry with cybersecurity training providers throughout the nation. Use these tools to ensure citizens and the workforce have more dynamic cybersecurity.

The Center for Cybersecurity Innovation & Outreach (CyIO) at Iowa State University: CyIO houses the highly-sought Cybersecurity Engineering degrees. CyIO offers a Bachelors degree, Masters degrees, PhD degrees and certificates around cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity Programs at Des Moines Area Community College: DMACC offers dual credit for high school students, an associate degree in cybersecurity, a diploma in cybersecurity, and certificates in cybersecurity and e-discovery.

Cyber Defense Competitions

ISEAGE Cyber Defense Competitions (CDC)CDCs are great hands-on experiences to defending networks in real time, with real people. The competitions are hosted by Iowa State University and are open to high school students, community college students, four-year university students and industry professionals.

Scholarships

Iowa State University Scholarships and Financial Aid: If continuing your cybersecurity education at Iowa State University, see if these scholarship opportunities apply to you. Iowa State offers several opportunities to undergraduate students majoring in electrical, computer, software, or cyber security engineering to obtain scholarships or paid undergraduate research positions on-campus.

CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service: This program provides indirect funding for college students, graduate students, or focuses on educational developments for this group such as curricula development, training or retention.
